Box Of Hope Partnership

Gifts for Cancer Patients & How to Help | Advice from a Cancer Patient

Twisted Pink has partnered with the United Breast Cancer Foundation to support breast cancer patients and survivors beginning in 2021 with our Box of Hope program. The support comes in the form of available resources and health & beauty products mailed as a Hope Box to breast cancer patients and survivors. Throughout 2021, over 1,200 Boxes of Hope were mailed to early and late-stage breast cancer patients across the United States and Canada.

We are excited to partner with the United Breast Cancer Foundation to reach more individuals with a unique program to ship gifts of support to survivors and look forward to continuing this program in the months and years to come. We are grateful for UBCFs ongoing partnership to help Twisted Pink in supporting individuals affected by a breast cancer diagnosis. Its exciting to realize the potential number of individuals we could support throughout the country, Caroline Johnson, Executive Director, Twisted Pink.

The United Breast Cancer Foundation has generously donated the gifts for the Hope Box program. The boxes are filled with health & beauty items to help survivors and patients enjoy these gifts following what are often expensive treatments for breast cancer. The box includes a variety of items such as jewelry, Savvy Minerals makeup, CBD lotion & oils, herbal tea & more. The retail value of the box is approximately $250.00 per recipient.

Financial Assistance & Free Money For Cancer Patients Type #: Fundraising

One of the quickest, easiest ways to supplement financial assistance for cancer patients is fundraising. With a little upfront investment of your time and a good social network, fundraising can be an effective tool for harnessing financial funds.

Online fundraising platforms such as GoFundMe, allow you to post your need/cause and share that need/cause with others. However, the downside is that you only receive a portion of the funds raised.

A second method of fundraising worth consideringand from which youll get to keep all profits is known as a personal fundraiser. With this type, you, your friends, and your family raise funds by offering something to the community, such as a bake sale or car wash, for example. Feel free to check out MedGift Advocacy Services for a whole list of fundraising ideas.

Dont be afraid to seek a higher quality of life. You deserve it, no matter what your financial situation is. To learn more about how we help cancer patients financially, contact us at American Life Fund today!

Make A Caringbridge Site

CaringBridge is a personal health journal that lets you easily share your health journey with all your loved ones. Creating a site is a great way to help your loved one easily communicate and receive support, which makes it an awesome gift to give someone battling cancer. Check out what a couple CaringBridge users had to say about creating a site:

Doing a CaringBridge for my mother-in-law was the best thing I did for myself! My writings were priceless in the time it saved me. I then could spend more time with her. Then trying to keep everyone up-to-date, which would have been impossible. Thank you for being there for us!

Linda W.

Some of the best gifts my husband and I are receiving right now arent physical things, but support on our CaringBridge site from people we havent heard from in a very long time. Another thing that was an amazing gift to me was the Loving Kindness Meditation connected with CaringBridge. It helped me focus every day, and I saved the link and still go back to it.

Its free, its easy and its so important. Going through cancer treatment can feel isolating and having the support of regular visitors is the best way to combat that.

Coordinate with your loved one to find the days theyll be undergoing treatment and pick times that work for both of you to come visit. Trust us, simply showing up makes a world of difference to someone going through a health crisis.

And when youre not visiting in person, pick up the phone and give your loved one a call. Hearing the voices of people they care about can be an incredible source of comfort and entertainment.

The gift of time, to sit, help take my husband to chemo, stay while I ran an errand, take him to lunch with the guys if he was able.

First Descents: Outdoor Adventures For Youth

Pin on Breast Cancer Cookies

Its important that young cancer patients and survivors not feel as though their diagnosis defines them. One way to ensure that doesnt happen is to focus on developing strength and skills through outdoor adventures.

Thats the idea behind First Descents. Serving both young cancer patients and young cancer survivors, this organization provides them with access to free outdoor recreational programs that involve paddling, climbing, and surfing to ultimately help them define their own identities.

The physical nature of these adventures can also provide young cancer survivors with many of the same benefits of the Livestrong at the YMCA program. By exercising in the form of fun outdoor activities, they may develop the strength necessary to recover more quickly than they otherwise would. They can also connect with other young people whove shared experiences like theirs, which is often very helpful at times when they may still need some support from understanding friends.

Free Money & Financial Assistance For Cancer Patients Type #: Your Life Insurance Policy Pays You

Anyone struggling with a severe medical condition knows that health insurance doesnt cover all costs. In the United States, you may still face significant out-of-pocket expenses even with government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

However, most people dont know that a life insurance policy is considered an asset that you own, meaning insurance policyholders can sell their life insurance for a lump-sum cash payment, also known as a viatical settlement.

With a viatical settlement, the funds are tax-free and non-regulated, meaning YOU decide how they are spent.

Not only can you pay towards your medical expenses, but also towards the cost of living expenses or even a luxurious vacation with your loved ones. As the settlement holder, the choice is uniquely yours.

In some cases, individuals can receive 70% of their life insurance policy in little as 2 weeks!

How it works: Unlike life settlements, viatical settlements are designed for life insurance policyholders with life-threatening illnesses, reduced life expectancies, or chronic health issues.

Cancer patients with life insurance policies can enter agreements with third-party buyers to sell their life insurance policy in return for a lump-sum payment .

The life settlement company takes over by paying the monthly insurance policy premiums and receives the death benefit after the sellers passing.

Warm Stylish Head Coverings

Thinning hair and chemotherapy-related hair loss can make cold weather uncomfortable. Some people with cancer prefer not to wear hats or wigs, but cold temperatures can change that.

Warm hats, scarves, and bandanas can help keep your friend covered up in style. Don’t focus on appearance, though. Let your friend know that head coverings are always optional.
