“A one star review is generous for this condescending and arrogant doctor. He is dismissive to his patients and their families and worse of all dishonest. As I watch my dad slowly die of radiation necrosis, a treatment side effect we were not made aware of, I implore you to keep looking. Your choice in using him for your treatment could be deadly.”

“My husband was referred to Dr Feldman by his MSK doctor because she specializes in research trials. We did not choose her. After our initial meeting I was not impressed but she sold my husband. Shes cold, her bed-side manner sucks and she treated him like a number. As soon as she decided my husband was no longer treatable she kicked him to the curb. I had to jump through hoops to get her to return my calls. She didnt have the decency to speak with us about her decision to end treatment. We found out second hand from one of her associates and a nurse. Her bedside manner is disgusting. Her treatment towards end of life patients is inhumane. She had one foot out the door before she met with us for an appointment. She has no compassion or empathy. She should take lessons from the nurses and aides who work in the hospital. They could teach her a thing or to. Shes not brilliant shes a coward.”

Potential Hipaa Consumer Fraud Act Violations Revealed By State Investigation
The states investigation into potential regulatory violations revealed a number of details previously undisclosed about the incident.
In January 2019, RCCA began alerting its employees to an increase in phishing attacks directed to the RCCA network, with a subject that read: Unusual High Phishing Activity – Be Alert! The emails warned of phishing emails and how to spot them. A second email blast in April repeated previous warnings.
However, the states investigation found that neither email included any process to verify that employees had received and reviewed them.
RCCA is unable to produce any other form of training to prevent unauthorized access through phishing attacks prior to the May Incident, according to the report.
Prior to the May Incident, in 2017, 2018, and 2019, Atlantic performed annual cybersecurity risk assessments and prepared work plans on RCCAs behalf, but these assessments and work plans failed to conduct any analysis regarding the prevention of phishing attacks, it added.
Further, the states investigation revealed the phishing email that led to the multiple account compromises instructed employees to click on a link to stop their Microsoft Office 365 account from being deactivated. They found that an employee clicked on the link and provided the attacker with their employee credentials.
RCCA denied all allegations, but has agreed to implement further privacy and security measures to improve measures to keep patient information secured.
What Is Alzheimers Disease
Several factors contribute to the development of Alzheimers disease. One factor is the presence of abnormal structures in the brain known as amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary. The latter are tangled bundles of fibers that also are called tau. Additionally, there is a loss of connection between nerve cells, or neurons, located in the brain, which affects the memory and the ability to function., Other changes in the brain also have been implicated in the development of Alzheimers disease. This condition is the focus of intensive scientific research and many clinical trials, and the medical community is continually gaining more information about Alzheimers.

Infusion Therapy For Alzheimers Disease
Alzheimers disease is not curable at this time. However, researchers have developed several treatments that may help slow associated cognitive impairment, including the effect on memory. In 2021, the U.S. Federal Drug Administration approved a new medication that is for Alzheimers disease that is administered by intravenous infusion. This treatment is thought to be effective in eliminating the amyloid plaques in the brain.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with Alzheimers disease, your doctor will determine whether this infusion treatment might be of benefit. It is not recommended for all patients, and specific criteria must be met.

Regional Cancer Care To Pay $425k To New Jersey Over 2019 Data Breach Hipaa Violations
The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs reached a settlement with Regional Cancer Care Associates over a 2019 data breach that impacted 105,200 patients. The Hackensack-based provider organization agreed to pay $425,000 and to improve its privacy and security measures.
RCCA has 30 locations in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Maryland. The $425,000 settlement includes $353,820 in penalties and $71,180 for attorneys fees and investigative costs.
Acting Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck launched an investigation into the provider following the breach to determine if RCCA violated the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act and The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
In July 2019, RCCA notified patients of a targeted phishing attack that compromised several employee email accounts for nearly two months. Their investigation determined the attacker had access to the accounts and the information they stored.
The unauthorized access was not discovered until May 24.
The data was potentially acquired and involved a host of personal and health information, including patient names, date of birth, drivers licenses, diagnoses, treatments, provider information, prescriptions, and health insurance details. For a smaller subset of patients, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, and or payment card information was involved.
As a result, the family members of those cancer patients were informed of the patients health conditions without their consent.
Going Beyond Advanced Care To Advancing Caring
When a person has cancer, getting better should be all that he or she has to focus on. Too often, however, people undergoing treatment also have to worry about getting a ride to their chemotherapy session, making arrangements for child care, or paying the utility bill.
In short, they need a helping hand.
The doctors, nurses, and staff of Regional Cancer Care Associates, LLC, or RCCA, have long experience in helping patients manage the medical challenges of cancer through their provision of the most advanced oncology care available. And through the close relationships they forge with those patients, they also have deep familiarity with the many practical challenges that individuals and their families have to address in the midst of battling cancer.
Thats why the clinicians and staff of RCCA have joined forces with other caring individuals and organizations to form RCC Charities. The non-profit organization provides cancer patients and their families with the practical assistance they need at a very difficult time in their lives.

Risk Factors For Alzheimers Disease
There probably isnt just one cause of Alzheimers disease, and researchers are working to better understand the roles of genetics, environmental factors, and lifestyle choices. The following are well-established risk factors for Alzheimers disease:
- Age: Most cases occur in people over age 65.
- Genetics: About 1% of cases are known to be caused by genes, and Down syndrome is also considered a risk factor.
- Family history: Alzheimers disease may run in families, and having a first-degree relative with the disease places a person at increased risk for Alzheimers.
- Falls and head trauma: Head injuries have been linked with dementia. Thats why people should develop and maintain core strength, wear helmets during sports activities, and fasten seatbelts in vehicles.
Conversely, research has shown that controlling blood pressure, following a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and maintaining social connections may reduce the risk for Alzheimers disease.

Adapting To Coronavirus: What Has Changed At Rcca And What Hasnt
Dr. Fitzgerald noted that beyond providing expanded access to area cancer patients, RCCA has taken several other steps in response to the coronavirus, including:
- Offering telehealth visits whenever possible, employing easily used and widely available technology to enable patients to talk with their physician or nurse virtually. Patients should call their local RCCA office for more information about scheduling a telehealth visit.
- Adjusting patient in-office visits and staffing schedules to minimize the number of people in the office at any one time and to allow for adequate social distancing.
- Intensifying RCCAs already thorough cleaning and sanitization processes.
- Screening patients for signs and symptoms of coronavirus by telephone prior to their in-office appointments, and screening them again at the front door before they enter the office for their appointments.
Beyond those steps, Dr. Fitzgerald said, it is important for patients and all people to follow the general guidelines put forth by the CDC, which include social distancing, washing hands, using sanitizer when soap and water are not available, and promptly reporting new symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath to their physician.
