Demelza said: Ive always looked at my boobs, checked and felt them.
Ive always been amazed at how many people have actually said they would never think to check. It takes two minutes.
At this time, when I didnt actually look and feel, it was the time that something was actually there.
Someone was definitely looking over me that day, for sure. Im a true believer in that someone was looking over me and saying, we need to get you to have a look Its really uncanny how everything unfolded.
, I was more concerned that I wouldnt be able to have my armpits waxed.
I got out of the shower and thought, oh my god, my armpits are so bad that I dont want to shave them, Im going to have to look at getting some home wax kit.
With that, I had my left arm up and my towel dropped. As my towel dropped, I went to grab it and I looked up in the mirror. The light was shining through the window, and I thought, oh, whats that?.
I thought, having had kids, it was just a stretch mark. I thought it was a stretch mark for a split second, until I put my arm back up.
I put my arm up again to check. I must have done it a good 10 to 100 times because every time I put my arm up it was there, and every time I put it down, it wasnt there.
You Have Bumps On Your Boobs
The vast, vast, vast majority of these are totally normal skin issues, Dr. Reitherman tells SELF. Dr. Bevers agrees. Very commonly, bumps on the breast are not a breast problem, but more a skin problem, like a sebaceous cyst, she says. You may also notice bumps around your nipple, which are known as Montgomerys glandsthose are totally normal.
But if you notice scaliness, redness, and itchiness on your nipple or breast, point it out to your doctorit could be a sign of a rare type of breast cancer known as Pagets disease.
Appearance Of Breast Dimpling From Cancer
Dimpling creates a sunken appearance of the skin. When skin dimples, it can look slightly pitted and uneven in texture.
A dimple can form on the breast, near the armpit, or on the nipple. Some research suggests that when a breast lump and dimple are present, dimpling may not be noticeable until you move a lump around or press on it in various spots. However, with IBC and lobular breast cancer, dimpling can occur without a lump.
Puckering of the breast skin, which causes a slight indentation, is similar to dimpling and can signify breast cancer.

Indent In Breast Or Stretch Mark Really Worried :
I was recently in the Zara changing rooms where I noticed some unusual markings on my right breast. It has always been been the larger breast and I had a baby coming up to 10 months ago where I combi fed. Since stopping that I’ve noticed my breasts have really deflated and I’ve been left with some skin coloured stretch marks.
However, one stretch mark seems slightly wider and a little deeper than the others. It’s kind of blink and you’d miss it but it’s definitely there. I can see it in the mirror and when I put my arm up I can see it more, along with some other what I would perceive as normal stretch marks around that area. It looks slightly darker, I can’t tell if it runs along side a vein underneath.
Previously I have thought nothing of it, but after seeing it under overhead lighting and now studying it, plus googling I am having really bad thoughts that it could be something more sinister. My partner can see it too, although because of the new texture/ skin stretching of my post partum boobs I don’t know if this is a natural change or something to worry about.
I wondered if anyone knew what an indent specifically looks like? I’ve tried to google and keep getting horror stories. Mine is on the top of my breast, above the nipple to right towards my arm. I’ve checked and cannot feel any lumps.
One Boob Is Bigger Than The Other
Totally normal, womens health expert Jennifer Wider, M.D., tells SELF. Its quite common for breasts to be slightly different sizes, she says. Most people wouldn’t notice the difference, but it occurs in more than half of all women. This typically happens when your breasts are developing, but you can also gain or lose more size in one boob vs the other with weight gain and loss, Dr. Bevers says.
But if you find that one breast is suddenly larger than the other and youre not sure why, flag it for your doctor. Asymmetry can be a sign of breast cancer since a large mass could make one breast look larger than the other, Dr. Bevers says.

An Orange Peel Texture On The Breast Skin
If the skin of your breast feels thicker and looks like an orange peel, have it checked right away. This may be caused by an infection. But pitting or bumpy breasts that resemble the skin of an orange are also a potential sign of Pagets disease.
When What Are Some Common Uses Of The Procedure
PET scans are used most often to detect cancer and to examine the effects of cancer therapy by characterizing biochemical changes in the cancer. These scans can be performed on the whole body. PET scans of the heart can be used to determine blood flow to the heart muscle and help evaluate signs of coronary artery disease. PET scans of the heart can also be used to determine if areas of the heart that show decreased function are alive rather than scarred as a result of a prior heart attack, called a myocardial infarction. Combined with a myocardial perfusion study, PET scans allow differentiation of nonfunctioning heart muscle from heart muscle that would benefit from a procedure, such as angioplasty or coronary artery bypass surgery, which would reestablish adequate blood flow and improve heart function. PET scans of the brain are used to evaluate patients who have memory disorders of an undetermined cause, suspected or proven brain tumors or seizure disorders that are not responsive to medical therapy and are therefore candidates for surgery.

Breast Cancer: Why Me
The most obvious risk factor for breast cancer is being a woman. Men get the disease, too, but itâs about 100 times more common in women. Other things that make it more likely include being over age 55 or having a close relative who had the disease. Still, up to 80% of women with breast cancer have no family history of the illness.
What Causes Skin Dimpling
This may result in a lump that could be mistaken for a tumor. If the fat necrosis develops near the surface, it may make the skin surface look pitted or dimpled.
Fat necrosis isnt a precursor to cancer, but its symptoms still warrant evaluation. A needle biopsy of the lump can help confirm if its cancerous or not. Fat necrosis doesnt raise the risk of breast cancer.
Dimpled skin is a common sign of inflammatory breast cancer, which draws its name from an inflamed appearance. This form of cancer results in the blockage of lymph vessels in the skin.
These vessels transport lymph, a fluid that helps carry particles and excess fluid, from tissue throughout the body to the bloodstream. The lymph system also supports the bodys immune system.
Inflammatory breast cancer accounts for
If your skin dimpling is caused by inflammatory breast cancer, you may have the following symptoms:
- The affected breast may swell and feel warm.
- The affected breast may be especially tender.
- You may feel pain in the affected breast.
- You may feel a burning sensation in the affected breast.
The affected area often covers about one-third of the breast in inflammatory breast cancer. This can vary depending on the person. If you see dimpled skin on both breasts, its unlikely that the cause is cancer.

How To Get Rid Of Stretch Marks On Your Breasts
Treatments for breast stretch marks aim to increase skin collagen levels and hydration. But Dr. Akhtar says timing is everything.
The sooner you see a board-certified dermatologist when the stretch marks are still new and purplish or pinkish in color the easier it is to treat them, she says. Once they become older, its not easy to get rid of them. There are some treatments but few are effective.
People who are breastfeeding or pregnant should first check with their doctor before starting any treatments for stretch marks.
What Are Stretch Marks
Stretch marks on your breasts are a normal physiologic response to stretching of the skin in most people, Dr. Ahktar says.
New stretch marks look like curvy lines or streaks that are pink, red or purple in color. Older stretch marks appear lighter in color and fade with time but may never disappear completely.

Stretch Marks Could Signal One Of These Two Worrying Medical Conditions
When a person is pregnant or growing, stretch marks are inevitable. Also known as Striae, it is a form of skin scarring or the tearing of the dermis resulting from the body’s rapid growth. They could diminish over time, but will never completely disappear.
Every so often, stretch marks are not a sign of alarm, but there could be times when they could signal either of these two worrying medical conditions: pelvic disorder or breast cancer.
Treatments For Older Breast Stretch Marks
Older stretch marks are harder to treat. Its not possible to completely clear older stretch marks, and it will likely take several sessions and a combination of treatments to get the best results.
We havent yet found that silver bullet to eliminate older stretch marks, Dr. Ahktar says adds. There might be some improvement, but you will not be 100% satisfied.
Doctors can achieve varying degrees of success by combining laser treatments with other options, including radiofrequency devices, microneedling devices, platelet-rich plasma , ultraviolet and infrared light therapy. Dr. Akhtar says fractional ablative and non-ablative lasers work best on older stretch marks.
When making treatment decisions, be sure to carefully weigh the risks, benefits and costs.
I dont encourage my patients to spend a lot of money trying to get rid of older stretch marks, Dr. Akhtar says, but more advanced lasers are coming out every day. Im hopeful that well be able to help patients with older stretch marks soon. The key thing to remember is that the earlier and more aggressively we treat them, the better the results.

Home remedies for stretch marks
Youâll find many creams, salves, oils, and other skin ointments that claim to either prevent or treat them. But thereâs little proof that any of these products really work. Some treatments and home remedies can fade or hide stretch marks:

What Is A 5
A relative survival rate compares women with the same type and stage of breast cancer to women in the overall population. For example, if the 5-year relative survival rate for a specific stage of breast cancer is 70%, it means that women who have that cancer are, on average, about 70% as likely as women who dont have that cancer to live for at least 5 years after being diagnosed.
How To Prevent Stretch Marks
Stretch marks are normal and not a threat to your health. But if you want to minimize them, you can try some of the following tips. While its not possible to prevent stretch marks, there are a few things we can do to minimize their appearance.
- Maintaining a healthy weight is good for your body overall and can reduce the chance of getting stretch marks.
- Eating a healthy diet may help to protect your skin. If you lack certain nutrients such as vitamins C, D, and E, zinc, or protein you may be more prone to stretch marks.
- Using targeted stretch-mark oils or creams can minimize their appearance while youre pregnant.

Is It Ok To Have Stretch Marks On Your Breasts
While many females get stretch-marked breasts when theyre pregnant, some develop them in their teens. This normal reaction of the skin happens when a persons body is growing. But why do we get stretch marks? These marks may appear on our breasts when the skin, including the collagen fiber, stretches.
Why Might Breast Dimpling Be The Only Breast Cancer Symptom People Experience
It may not be the only symptom necessarily but certainly the most obvious as the dimpling is often the first thing we notice with our eyes in the mirror after getting out of the shower or while doing a self-breast exam. This speaks to the importance of not only self-breast examination but also to the inspection portion of that exam. Women should always start the self-exam with inspection of their breasts in the mirror, looking for any skin changes, including dimpling, or changes in the size of the breasts compared to each other, symmetry of the breasts.

Can I Prevent Breast Stretch Marks
Preventing stretch marks is possible but unfortunately not likely. Doctors recommend keeping your skin well hydrated and, whenever possible, avoiding sudden changes in body weight.
Theres no firm evidence in support of the use of creams and massages as a means to prevent stretch marks, but coconut oil and products containing hyaluronic acid hydrate your skin, which may help.
While not every young person develops stretch marks on their breasts when they hit puberty, massaging and moisturizing the area may help before they develop, Dr. Akhtar says.
The good news, though, is that breast stretch marks are completely harmless so your best bet is learning to live with them.
